A social media campaign for climate change and the effects on coral reefs.


Brief: Design a social media campaign for a UN global issues. This campaign is focused on effecting real change through clear, impactful experience design.

he chosen issue was climate change, and specifically how coral reefs are affected, and how that affects the rest of the world. I chose this topic because it is something that isn’t often talked about when speaking about climate change. Not many people know or realise how much the planet relies on coral reefs and what will happen if they are completely destroyed due to climate change.

The task was to create a series of carousel posts for Facebook and/or Instagram, using illustration or image and typography. I created the illustrations on my social media posts. 

The illustrations on each image all link together with a line. This represents how everything on the planet is connected and how if the coral reefs are affected by climate change, then that will affect humans as well as animals and marine life. This line flowing through each post also means that the reader can see the connection as they scroll through each post. I used a typeface that only uses capital letters. I thought this would work well because it shows the importance of the information being presented.
